{IBS} Pretty Rose Heart Box

Morning-
Today, I want to share the gorgeous gift box with you.  With Valentine's around the corner, I know that red will be popping up everywhere.  So with I made this heart shaped box for you today, which can be used for any for giving, not just Valentine's Day.For my project today, I am using to the beautiful Rose flower from the Vintage Rose stamp set, the scripted background from Spring Lilacs and the element from Vintage Digital Printables.   I love the layers of petal on this vintage rose.  I colored the image using my Copic markers but. left bits of white showing, to show emphasis on highlight from a directional light source. Here is I wanted to show you the box opened, so you can indeed see it's shaped like a heart.   Next, the layers of die cuts, pearl strings and the flower image itself. This last shot, is a close up of the pebble placed on top of the bow, using the digital element  from; Vintage Digital Printables.Well there you have it.  Heart boxes are not just for Valentine's Day, they are perfect for any occasion.Hugs, Calypso

{FTH} Sketch #51

Hi everyone-
I hope that you are keeping warm these days!!
We are all still sick and trying to fight off this bug!!

I wanted to swing by here and share my mid-week project for From the Heart Sketch challenge.
As you can tell, the weather had much to say in which image I chose to work with this week.
Also, with Valentine's Day approaching it's way in a couple of weeks, I thought this was the perfect image for the this sketch challenge.
Oh isn't that the sweetest thing ever!?!?
I adore this image and even though it's a winter image, I still get all warm and fuzzy when I look at it!! :)   This image is called Snow Mich Fun and can be found HERE on the FTH Shop site.
Here is this weeks sketch too!!
You still have til Sunday evening to play along and I sure do hope you do!!!

I would like to share this card in the following challenges:

{SS} #154: Lace and Hearts

Good morning sweeties!
How are you doing?  Are you staying warm?  Dry?
Yes, I ask dry because, we got some light showers here the other day!!
It was completely random but, a very nice welcome.

So I am back, with this weeks challenge card for SweetStamps.
This weeks theme is:
Lace and Hearts
I just love how this card looks!!!  That Lace Border stamp, is now one of my favorites!!
Now, I don't not have a steady hand, so I used a Stampin-ma-jig, to get the perfect alignment.
Isn't that just a beautiful stamp!!??!
For the heart frame, I rubbed Lave red Inka-Gold and white Glitter Ritz to the center!!
Added my loved, "With Love" sentiment, a button and twine!  All on kraft too!!  You know how much this gall loves her kraft cardstock!!  :)
With Valentine's around the corner, hope you find the time to join us this week.

{IBS} Butterfly Pencil Holders

“Good morning.

I hope that you are all having a fabulous week.   I have really gotten into altering items lately and I am having so much putting these little projects together!!   Today, I want to share a little project I did for one of my husbands co-workers.   He walked into her office one day and saw these makeshift pencil holders.  He turned to me for help and these are what I created.
Inspired by Stamping, Calypso Bastian, Fancy Labels 2 Die, Fancy Labels 2 Stamp Set, pencil case
Throughout the week he was able to gather information from her.  So with those clues I got to work on these immediately.  The first tin is wrapped in cork, ruffled trim and bling!!   The second tin is wrapped in colored burlap, pleated twill and twine.  I stamped one of the frames from Fancy Labels 2 stamp set, on chalkboard paper and embossed in white powder.  I chose the chalkboard paper because, it was super black and it drew the attention of the eyes directly to it. I then cut it out using the coordinating Fancy Labels 2 Die. So if you guessed, the lady loves butterflies.  I used different types of butterfly to make each can different, yet beautiful to be admired by all that walks into her office.
So I hope that today’s inspiration will encourage you to not only use your stamps on cards and layouts, but on any project!! Have a beautiful week.

Hugs,
Nazeema “Calypso” Bastian

{IBS} Lilacs

Good morning everyone!
Well a few weeks ago, I was pouting at the fact that the postal service lost my Inspired by Stamping January release kit!!!  I was so upset, because the rest of my teammates have been creating spectacular designs and all I could do was sit and drool!!  Yes, drool over paper and stamps!!  :)

Well, they finally arrived and then I got really sick and had to wait a bit longer.
Last night, I just couldn't sleep so I got up and made this card for you.
I LOVE...LOVE the new Spring Lilacs Paper Pad, which is new to the IBS line too!!
The colors are really rich, with an equal balance of bold and subtlety.
So for my card today, I used Spring Lilacs stamp set.
I rubbed antique linen on cream colored cardstock and stamped the script in walnut stain distress ink.
I stamped the Lilacs in Cocoa Brown Memento ink, twice and fussy cut one of them out.
The other flower, I colored random flowers, then did some really fussy cutting and adhered them to the original flower.  I love the look of petal dimension on any flower.  Once dried I adhered the Lilac onto the scripted background.
I love butterflies, so I was super thrilled that this set had one for me to color.
I added distressed stickles and crystal stickles, to give it some beautiful shimmer and shine.
I found this beauty in my stash a weeks back and I placed it on my scrap area so I would see it and use it!!  It looks like a smaller version of a bottle cap, but the edges are very decorative and vintage looking.  So I didn't want to add anything that would cover it up, instead I cut a small piece of the patterned paper and placed it inside!

I am excited to have received my stamps, as you can tell they are extremely beautiful.
I am working on another project so I will see you in a few short days.

I would like to share this card in the following challenges:

I have been sick and I needed to take that time to try and get better.
Now, my little one my be getting it.  Woke up this morning at 4 am, with a fever of 101 and coughing!
Hopefully, with rest, fluids and mommies homemade chicken soup, will keep him out of the ER this weekend.

So, I have a card that has been waiting to get photographed for this weeks challenge over at From the Heart Sketch #50.

We have a friend that well be getting married in Cancun this Summer and since we won't be attending, I will be giving them this card along with their wedding present soon.
I LOVE this image!!!  I could never get tired of coloring this image.
The image is called: True Love
I am using paper from Kaisercraft: The Lake House
Glitter glue was applied to the veil.
Ribbon is Fresh Snow from PTI.
Stunning right
My card is very simple, but I think it's perfect for this image!!!
Here is this weeks sketch, which you still have some time to join us!!
I hope that you are having a great weekend.

{S&C} w/ Magnolia #27: In Love

Good morning.
I can't believe how long it's been since I posted a Magnolia card!!
Well it's your lucky day, it's Team B's turn over at Stamp and Create w/ Magnolia!!
The fortnightly theme is:
IN LOVE
Now, I think I may have over thought this one, just alittle bit but I wanted to use some new stamps I got over the holidays. Tilda with Love Cake and Venice Background and I  just couldn't wait to color them up.  Now, this will be my very first time coloring a Magnolia scene and image like this!!
I had the hardest time lining up and getting a cleaning impression!!
I know it was me, but I really like the way it came together!!!  These colors are so bright and bold, that they match the little houses in the background perfectly!!

So I hope you enjoyed my card and will pay us a visit.

{SD} #13: Sparkle It UP!!!

Happy Birthday Scribbles Designs!!
Sandy, congratulations on "ONE" amazing year and just to think it's just getting started!!!
I am honored to be going through this journey with you and I am looking forward to another year of amazing creations!!!

So if you did the word hunt, you will remember seeing this portion of my card!!!
Oooh, how I loved this snip!!
For the Blog Hop I used  Carl I  You.
I LOVE..LOVE...LOVE all of Sandy's from images, but this one just makes my heart pitter patter just a little bit faster!!!  He is so "sauve"  looking!!  So my son loves Sandy and even calls her "Auntie" when he refers to her.  I showed him this card and he said , "Mom, can I write a letter to Auntie and send it?"  So you have mail coming from the little guy!! :)

So, I hope that you had a chance to join the hop and see everyone's creations on today's challenge; which by the way is:
SPARKLE IT UP!

See you soon!!

{SS} January Monthly Technique Challenge

Good morning-
Every 15th of the month SweetStamps, encourages us to think outside the box and try different techniques.  This weeks challenge I LOVED and have in fact used before, but it's always nice to  revisit.  So this months challenge is:
KISSING TECHNIQUE
You can see a tutorial on this technique on the challenge page or HERE
I LOVE the way this technique gives this stamp a different look!!
I stamped "In Her Easter Bonnet Silhouette" in amaryllis first.  Then I stamped "Italian Writing" in French Roast.  I then took the silhouette image and placed it on top of the Italian Writing and then stamped on paper.  So pretty right?!?!
I used beautiful Crate Paper and Cheery Lynn Designs dies, for the flowers.
I added micro beards around the center pearls for added interest!!
I think I will be doing that again!!  Love it SOOO much!! :)
Here is a close up on the stamped image.
Don't forget we also have our weekly challenge still going on.

{IBS} Birthday Blossoms

Good morning-
Have you seen the amazing new release over at Inspired by Stamping?
Well you have to head over there and check out January's new release!!
Sadly to say, my stamps have not arrived yet!!  They are have been eaten up by the mail system!!
I have been stalking and bribing the mail man carrier for weeks.  I think I need to stop, before he thinks I have crush on him or something!!  LOL

Today I am sharing a soft and shabby card, I made using Novembers release; Garden Seed Packets.   This stamp has  two other beautiful flowers and several scripted sentiments which make for gorgeous cards. I embossed the frame and flowers, so that they would both draw your eyes to the center of the card.   The flowers were stamped on vellum, embossed and the reverse side colored with alcohol inks.   Love the soft colors and gorgeous vintage metal flower blooms, giving this card such a classy shabby chic card.
I also loved this months color challenge IBSIC #74.  Pretty right?!?

Well I hope that you will swing by and say hello and join in on the challenge too!!
Hope that you are having a great week.
Hugs.

{SS} #152: Winter Blues

Good morning my sweet friends.
Thanks for stopping by today.
How quickly are these days flying...It's already Tuesday!!
So today at SweetStamps, it's time for another wonderful challenge.
This weeks theme is:
WINTER BLUES
For my card today, I know that I wanted to do blue and white!!
So I turned to my stamps, inks and paper to do the creating for me.
I cut a piece of watercolor paper and rubbed the Inka Gold all over it.  I found out that if I used a baby wipe, it spreads the colors more evenly.  Just don't rub too hard or your paper will start to peel.
I then stamped my snowflake with white dye ink and embossed with white embossing powder.
I distressed the edges and rubbed a little of Inka Gold Silver around the edges.  I know it's not really noticeable in the picture, but the Inka Gold is really shimmery.  My cardstock is also has a slight shimmer to it as well. It is really more impressive in person.
