IBSIC #44: With Love

Good morning.
Well today is my first posting for Inspired by Stamping Inspirational Challenge.
I was so excited to the line up of all the color combinations that are planned for you and me both!! :)
There has been so many Valentine colors flying around lately and my blog is no exception!! LOL
I love...Love...LoVe.. Valentine's Day.
So with that in mind I created a very clean and simple Valentine's Day card.
I really like the layers of hearts and the center of mini pearls.  I used the heart and the layers of flowers as the other part of my inspiration for my card. Oh so pretty.
The hearts were cut out with my Cameo.
For my sentiment I used Cute Circles, which was part of January's new release.
Gorgeous stamps.

LOVE

Good morning!
I am yawning up a storm this morning!!  We were so busy running errands yesterday and visiting with my in-laws, that time just slipped away from me.  We got home and everyone so tired or already asleep, that I just called it a night.  So if you see some minor spelling errors, I apologize!

Today at SweetStamps, we have a lovely challenge for you.
This weeks theme is all about:
LOVE or VALENTINE
For my card today I created my very own swing card.
I have to be honest and tell you that I winged the measurements and everything and it came out so AMAZING.  I really love the way it came out.  Although, this card is HUGE!!  I have to make a custom box for it.  But it had to be big, because of the Cheery Lynn Dies I was using.
Isn't that just AWESOME!!  I am really excited, can you tell!! LOL
I have done several Valentine cards already and wanted to switch up the color theme for this card.
And my MIL loves receiving my cards, so it will be a perfect anniversary gift.
All the paper is from PTI, the image is Wedding Swans, colored with Copics.
There is splashes of Stardust glitter glue all over the butterflies and flowers.
This is the inside, when you open the card open!!  SWEET!!!  :)
Again, using Cheery Lynn Designs and Stardust.

Well I really hope you like my card as much as I do and if not, it's ok too!!
So if you are still making Valentines Day cards, please make sure to and pay us a visit.  Love to see your creations.

You Are Loved

Happy Friday everyone-
Got any cool plans for the weekend?
Me..Nothing really. Although, I do want to go to the zoo on Monday, just not sure it's going to rain or not.
So we will just have to wait it out and see.

While the boys were napping this afternoon, I was able to put this card together.
This is "Meet Anneke" from Delightful "Inspirations, previously known as Designed 2 Delight.
When I saw this angel, I knew I had to get her.  She reminds me of our niece, Carla.
I colored her with my Copics and matched her with paper from MME: Life of the Party.
Quick post tonight, I have to finish getting set up for movie night and order take out.  Just not sure what I feel like eating...Thai...Mexican...or Pizza.  I'll have my 3 y/o pick..LOL.

Lace and Pearls

Good morning my sweet blogging friends.
Oh, how I have been enjoying this warm weather we are having here in CA.
It was a sunny 80 degrees today, but that's not going to last long. There is rain in the forecast. ;(

Well today at SweetStamps, we have a new challenge for you and I know you will love it.
This weeks theme is:
Lace and Pearls
I LOVE this card!!  I really, really do.  This was my first time making a criss cross card and I don't know why I never thought of doing one before.  It really adds a lot of fanciness to a card.  The final card itself measures 6x6.  The cardstock I used is from Bazzill Basics and the patterned paper is from Prima: Zephyr.
I love all the beautiful bright and bold floral prints in this pack, it really worked well with Lady Flower image, which was colored with my distress markers, on watercolored paper.  The lace came from the stash box.  The cluster of flowers were all created using Cheery Lynn Design Dies.  The tab on the insert is the sentiment tag, but I folded it over and placed a pearl on it.  You have to excuse me though.  I  didn't see that the pearl had slipped until I started writing this post. :)
This is the inside of the card, once you remove it from the envelope card.
So I hope to see you this week at SweetStamps.

Thinking about you

Good morning...good morning!!
Are you off today? Do you have any plans?
Me? Hmm...It was so warm yesterday, that the boys actually started work on the backyard.
Clearing out an area in the backyard, so that I can grow my vegetable garden.
So excited, but still a ways to go.

Yesterday, I got some time to be crafty.  And sticking to my new years resolution, pulled out a stamp from the pile and went to work.  I pulled out a few actually, but those will come later!!
I've had this stamp for ages and my little sister is the only one who has used it.  So she has been well neglected and I feel bad.  That feeling didn't last long once I found a couple of challenge she would be perfect for.

Here is The Greeting Farm: Laundry
Is she just not precious, sitting on that pile of clothes?
I had so much fun coloring her and doing a little bit of paper piecing too.
I flipped the sketch and The inspiration I used from the photo were pillows, blankets and some of the black and white pattern too.

I would like to enter in the following challenges:
Anyone for Anya
Dream Valley #49
Totally Stampalicious

Thanks for visiting today...I appreciate you stopping by.

SS: #138-Negative Space

We are BACK....
Yes, Sentimental Sundays is back from break and off to a fantastic start.
Wow...those few weeks went by so fast...I almost need just one more week to get caught up and really ready.  LOL...don't we always need a little more time these days?

Well I am excited about days challenge and sponsor.
This week we are being sponsored by Chickydoddle.
Winnie, the owner has amazing goodies on her store.  If you are into washi tapes, twine, boxes...she's the gal to go see. I'm telling you, you won't be disappointed and she ships fast too!!  The design team is playing with some Washi Tapes Petite and I am HOOKED!!  This is my first experience with washi tapes and I love it!!  I LOVE it...so now I understand the crave for these amazing tapes.  Winnie, will be giving a $50 goodie back to this weeks winner.  So if you get a chance, come on by and play along with us this week.

But first, let me tell you this weeks challenge theme.

NEGATIVE SPACE

Now, this is not white and open space. This is the space that is left after you have removed your die cut from the paper. (You can also use your die cut machines.)  Here is what I created for you this week.

Those butterflies were cut out with my Cameo using THIS silhouette file. I only used one of the butterflies, but copied it 3 times and positioned them the way I wanted them.  I think it looks great.  I love the clean lines and the beautiful colors of the washi tape peeking through.

And because I couldn't help it, I had to make another card :)
I told you these tapes are fun...the possibilities are endless.
These are the same butterflies from above. For this card though, the washi tape is on top and the image was then cut out of it!!  Very cool huh.  I could have made another card, but I figured I would hold off on the butterflies for today!!  :) All the cardstock and sentiments used are from Papertrey Ink.

So there you have it folks.  I really hope that you will pay us a visit at Sentimental Sundays this week and take a jump into this weeks challenge.  Looking forward to seeing you soon.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Addicted to CAS
Card Makin Mamas
Lil Red Wagon
Simon Says: Use Washi Tape

See you soon.

Calypso

Inspired by Stamping Design Team

Hello and happy Wednesday!!
Well I am here today to make an amazing announcement.
I am honored to announce that I am now part of the Inspired by Stamping Design Team.

Now, I have just recently discovered Inspired by Stamping. I was visiting one of my other DT sister and saw this gorgeous card she had made. I loved the sophistication of the card and the versatility of the stamp.
So I scrolled down to her supply list and it brought me here to Inspired by Stamping.  I was a little hesitant about applying.  I doubt myself a lot and my hubby, told me to just go for it and I did.
I went through the store and placed stamp sets in my Amazon Christmas basket, that I created for hubby.  Just in case he needs ideas on what to get me!!  LOL  I love everything that I saw and of course I wanted the entire store.  So I sat down the second to last day of the DT call, with the inspiration piece at hand and went to work.
This is what I created and submitted with my application.
I stamped on cork and bunched those flowers up and wrapped them in seamed binding.
Added burlap twine, a pearl, lace and more seam binding.

Here is the line up of the rest of talented ladies I will be joining.
Joanna Munster - Owner

Thank you for allowing me to share this news with you and I hope that you will join me in my new venture with Inspired by Stamping.

Calypso

Embossed Embossing Monthly Challenge

Hello again-
Were you able to join in SweetStamps December's monthly challenge?
Every month we challenge you to think/create outside of your comfort zone.
So if you want to learn new techniques this year, why not pay us a visit and give the challenges a try.

With that all being said, let us move on to this month's challenge.
This months theme is:
Embossed Embossing
Isn't this lovely?!?
The background is created using the Embossed Embossing technique.
You can see a video tutorial HERE.
For my background, I used Bazzill Basics Black cardstock and I embossed it with Craft Concepts: Ossie Dots embossing folder. I could not find my brayer, so I took my versamark embossing pen and colored all the dots.  I then covered the cardstock in white fine detail embossing powder, then heat embossed.
That's it!!!  Easy right!!??
Here is a closer look at the background and the those gorgeous butterfly.

Well I really hope that you will give this challenge a go. It's a good practice to try something new, so let 2013 be the year for new techniques.  :)  Look forward to seeing your entry.  Don't forget you have a whole month to show us what you created.

ANYthing Goes at SweetStamps

Hello sweeties-
Today is a post marathon, so I hope you will come back check out all the fun stuff happening this week/month long.
The first is SweetStamps weekly challenge.
This weeks theme is:
ANYTHING GOES
Now, this is where I try to take advantage of the challenge and stretch my creativity.
So this week I decided to do a mixed media collage.
This has been done without direction or even experience, so bare with me.

I started with this 5x7 panel canvas, which I purchased from Aaron Brothers.
It's already primed/treated and ready to be painted.  I did start with applying patterned paper, but when I started applying the paint...the patterned paper just seemed to vanish!!  LOL...poof there is went!
The Dahlia flower was colored with Copic and carefully cut out. Once I placed it on the canvas, I went around with a watercolor crayon.  Then I looking at it, I realized that is needed some shine.  So I brought out my Creative Inspirations Paint and went to town.  I went around the sentiment with stardust glitter glue, to finish it all off.

Well I hope that you are in a ANYTHING GOES kinda of mood and will join us this week at SweetStamps.

Flower Stamp and ANY Die(s) Challenge

Hello my friends-
How are you all doing, this fine Tuesday morning?
I hope that things are sort of warming up for you where you are.

We have a fantastic challenge for you over at Sweets Stamps this week.
This weeks theme is:
FLOWER stamp and ANY Die(s)
I really love the vibrant colors of these Bluebells.  I colored them with my Distress Ink Markers and I kept adding more and more layers of colors after it dried.
I thought I was overdoing it at first, but looking at now...I love it!!
The card was created using TSD Step Card Die.  Ladies...I'm telling you, this is a MOST have for any die collection.  If you love the look of a step and and don't want to deal with the cutting and measuring, well this is the product for you!!  I promise you!!  So the base of the card is Bazzill Kraft and I used some really old but lovely K & Co paper.  The Bluebells image is stamped on watercolor paper and embossed in detail fine embossing powder.  I inked around the image with Antique Linen distress ink and around the edge of the paper with Walnut Stain.
Here is the inside of the card.
I am going to try and finish the inside of all the cards I make.
Another resolution of mine.  I did good last year, but this year I am going to do better!! LOL

January- Corcus Flower

Happy Monday everyone-
I've had a very good day today.  The weather permitted for a scroll by the harbor with the boys.
I even had time to get crafty!!
I LOVE how the colors of this card.  The image is from Flourishes: A Year in Flower 1.
I used a color challenge and a sketch challenge for this beauty.
I have SO MANY stamps that I have not inked up, because I have become to so comfortable with reaching for my digital images.  So what I have done is, randomly picked a few sets from my box and I have to create something with them within the month.  If I don't, then I have to either sell them or give them away.
Sounds fair right?!  We will see how that works out.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Thank you for stopping by today.
See you again tomorrow for a SweetStamps challenge.

Hugs,
Calypso
