Pink, Green and Brown Birthday Card

Happy New Year!!!
2013 is finally here!!  Can you believe it?  WOW!!
New year, new goals, new friends, new memories and new creations!!!

This is my first card for 2013 and I created for today's challenge at Sweet Stamps.
This weeks theme challenge is:
PINK, GREEN and BROWN
CalypsoSS#98wm
LOVE how this came out!
I used Mums the Word Silhouette stamp, as the focal image.
I colored the flower and leaves with my Distress Markers (Worn Lipstick and Peeled Paint).
After I finished coloring the images, I applied some love by misting it very lightly with water.
I then stamped it to my cardstock, matted on Bazzill brown cardstock.  The Happy Birthday Script sentiment was stamped with French Roast Shades ink. The patterned paper is from MME Indie Chic: Saffron, matted on Bazzill Kraft. I dyed some seam binding ribbon using Peeled Paint re-inkers.  The paper lace was created using Border Carnivale by Cheery Lynn Designs.  Finished by placing on the Bazzill Brown card base and a Basic Grey button and burlap ribbon. Finished card measures 4.25x 5.5.

Happy Birthday Cards

Hello everyone!!
Can you believe that we are just a few days from 2013?!?
What a year it has been and a fast one at that!

I created these birthday cards in less than 15 minutes per card.
The die cutting took the longest, because I was using different colored cardstock.
Love the way they came out and a great use for using up those strips of scraps too.

Here is another shot of each card:

I used my FAVORITE border die BORDER CARNIVALE
by Cheery Lynn Designs.  I love the little hearts in this die, they are so small and pretty.
I also used a lovely script sentiment by Sweet Stamps called Happy Birthday Script, stamped in Tuxedo Black Ink.

Sweet and Simple Birthday

Hello sweeties-
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Wow...Christmas 2012, it's here already!!  Where did the time go?
Did you get everything on your wish list?
I know my sons did!!  My oldest just turned 16 on the 23rd and my middle baby turned 3 on Friday!
It is a very expensive month for us, but what are you going to do.

Since my little one loves to count, I made good use of our challenge over at SweetStamps.
This weeks challenge is:
Sweet and Simple Birthday

Here is what I created:
Sweet and simple right?!?!  I LOVE it and so did my little one.  I have seen these candles being made, so I thought it would be a perfect time to try.   I know it's not anything over technical, but the simplicity of it is what intrigues me more than anything.  Since I do try to CAS every now and then.
He even asked if we could light the candles!!  LOL

I used American Craft: MerryMint paper to create the candles.
I cut strips of 2x4 paper, placed a piece of 1/2" Super Sticky Adhesive on the inside of the paper I did not want to show.  Snipped a piece of embroidery and began to roll.  This this until all three candles were completed.  I used more Super Sticky Adhesive to hold down the candles where I wanted them to stay.
Inked up my Happy Birthday Script sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Ink and DONE!!

Last Christmas Card

Wow…I can not believe it!!!
I did it!!!  I really, really did it!!
I finished all my Christmas cards and just in time too, because we are headed over to my good friends house for Christmas Eve dinner.  YEAH!!!  I am really excited for another reason as well!!! I completed all the sketches for SFYTT 2012!!!!
This is my December card as well as a preview to all the other cards I created with these amazing sketches.  It is also a sad good bye to SFYTT.  It has been a wonderful challenge for me to commit to.  At time it was a struggle to find the time, but when I did I was happy to always get my submission in.
Jen, thank you for all your hard work and amazing inspiration. I will miss SFYTT.

LOVE can build a HOME

Hi everyone-
This post is pre-written as I am at Disneyland with my family this weekend.
Buddy turned 3 on Friday and Marquice is turning 16 today.
we always have to do something special for them, since we don't want them to feel like they get dooped, when they really do from everyone else.

So today at Sentimental Sundays, we want you to focus on the sentiment of your card.
\
I made this awhile as card sample for a trade show.
I love this stamp from Unity Stamps...and look at the red heart in the doorway.

Easy right?
Great, then hope on over and see what the Sentimental Sundays DT has created for your viewing pleasure this week.

Hope you have a Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas

Hello early birds!!
So how was your weekend?
Mine?!? I spent Sunday visiting with my girlfriend from high school and my goddaughter.
She is 7 months now and is cute as a button.  I have to post a picture of her, but I want to get mamas permission first!  *wink*

While I wait for an answer, let's move on to today's reason.
We have a new weekly challenge for you over at SweetStamps and a monthly challenge that just went up on Saturday.  If you missed that post, click HERE.
This weeks challenge is a sketch and I LOVE a good sketch.
Here is what I created for this weeks challenge:
I love this card and I know just the person to send it to!! :)
The sentiment is one one piece, but I cut it so that I can fit it onto the the oval die cut.  I use to be afraid to cut my stamps, now...eh, it's no big deal. LOL  The paper is from MME Lost & Found Christmas, that my blogging buddy Jen sent me.  I love these papers and I am saving the scraps too!

So I know that Christmas is quickly approaching, but I hope you still find to to get crafty and join us this week.  we would love to see what you create using the sketch.

Christmas Tags

Good morning everyone-
It is a cold and wet morning here in California.
My Patrick is really under the weather this week and I am hoping that we (the babies and I) don't catch what he has.  He's extremely congested, has a sore throat and has hot/cold moments.  Of course, when he's sick, he's the biggest baby in the house!! LOL

So moving on to today's challenge over at Sentimental Sundays.
With Christmas only 9 days away, we are asking that to see some Christmas Tags.
They can be tags for your gifts, that fancy bottle of wine or luscious gift basket you created.
Just makes sure that we see a sentiment.

Here is what I created:
I really enjoyed making these!!  I cut the base of the tags using my Cameo.
We are being sponsored by Meljen's Designs and I am using Jingle Bells and Joy Garland digital images.
There you have it, I hope that you will find time in the Christmas rush to join us this week.

SweetStamps Monthly Challenge

Hello blogging buddies-
Are you almost done with your Christmas cards?
Me...HAHA..the move really put a wrench into that operation this year.
I keep telling myself that I will start early, so I'm a little prepared, but that never happens.

So today at Sweet Stamps is the second monthly challenge.
Yes, I did say monthly...that means you have an entire month to create a project and join us.
This months theme/technique challenge is:
Cracked Glass Technique

I have seen this technique done before, but never dared myself to try it.
Now I wish I had.  It was such a great technique and I love how random the cracks can be.
There are two ways to achieve the look of cracked glass on your stamped images: wet (using clear embossing ink) or dry (using heat embossable double sided tape). either way you do it, you will need a heat gun and some UTEE (Ultra Think Embossing Enamel) in clear.  Here's a tutorial on this technique: HERE

Winter Greenery

Good morning sweeties-
Today is another great challenge over at SweetStamps.
This weeks themed challenge is:
Winter Greenery

I love that wreath!!  I dabbed it with a Q-Tip, using three different colors of distress inks.
Then I added the gold and red pearls.  I had finished the card, then went back and added the snow, which I think it looks great now.

Bright and Warm Christmas

Hello everyone-
Happy Sunday!!
Today is moving day for us and it's suppose to rain! RAINING!!
This just adds more frustration as to why I dislike the task of moving. ARGH!!!
On a brighter note and I do mean brighter!! :)
Today at Sentimental Sundays, we are asking you to make a Christmas card/project using:
NON-Traditional Christmas Colors

Calypso#131a
Calypso#131b
And here is a picture of the inside.

Calypso#131c
The stamped sentiment is from an old Hero Arts stamp set.
I also used a bigger version of the hibiscus flower I used in the front, which were made using Cheery Lynn Dies: Build A Flower #2. I really love how this all came together and will be the perfect card to send to my friend in Aruba.
